AmeriFleet Transportation is the premier "Drive-Away" company for corporate
fleet vehicles and work trucks in America. Vehicles are driven from auto
dealerships and upfitters to our customers, and from one customer to another.
In addition to pick-up and delivery of vehicles, AmeriFleet
offers a wide range of in-transit services to our clients including: Title and Registration,
Auto Detailing, and Oil Changes. Those who drive for AmeriFleet provide these
services between pick up and delivery of the fleet vehicle.
When driving a vehicle for our client, you become AmeriFleet's personal contact with our customers.
The importance of making an overall professional impression cannot be stressed enough When driving a client’s vehicle,
you will be expected to drive safely from pick up to delivery utilizing the most direct route, and keep our dispatcher
and our clients informed of your progress throughout the entire trip. You will be required to complete an accurate condition
report of the vehicle at time of pick up and notify our dispatcher of any vehicle cosmetic or mechanical defects. You may
be asked to perform any maintenance or required repairs during the trip at approved service centers for which you will be
compensated for your time. Occasionally, you will be required to title and register the vehicle you are delivering at a state
Department of Motor Vehicle office prior to delivery, for which you will also be compensated. You will be expected to deliver
every vehicle clean at a time pre-arranged between you, our dispatcher and our client. We expect our drivers to always deliver
the vehicle in better condition that when they picked it up. This level of service and communication is part of our Turn-Key
delivery approach. Every vehicle must be ready for our clients to use the moment you deliver it, free of issues. Any and all
trip documents and receipts will need to be sent via fax or Smart-Phone App to our billing department upon delivery. Drivers
operating DOT regulated vehicles will be required to maintain accurate and exact DOT Logs.
AmeriFleet accepts moves for vehicles types ranging from passenger vehicles (sedans, minivans, SUV’s) to commercial
motor vehicle Work Trucks (utility bodies, buses, delivery trucks). There are no limits to what types of vehicles
AmeriFleet may transport, as the market and our client needs are constantly changing.
Drivers are only provided vehicles which their license allows them to drive and the driver and dispatcher both feel
confident in a driver’s ability to operate safely. A standard license is required to drive vehicles under 10,000 GVWR, which
includes most regular size automobiles and small trucks. DOT certification is required for vehicles over 10,000 lbs.,
but less than 26,000 GVWR. Any vehicle we transport over 26,000 GVWR requires a CDL licensed driver.
The amount of money you can earn will depend on a number of factors including your flexibility,
the types of orders that are available and the amount of time you commit to working. Since the types of vehicles
and distance of moves vary with each order we process, your compensation may vary each week. The per mile compensation
for runs is dependent upon the type of vehicle and the mileage for the delivery. Additional expenses are reimbursed on
a case by case basis. AmeriFleet is able to provide a Comdata card to pay for your service which allows you to access
your money from any ATM.
Although there are hourly employee positions available working in local offices, all over the road deliveries are done by independent contractors.
On a typical delivery, you will be advanced 75% of the per mile compensation for the run.Upon a satisfactory delivery,
the balance of the per mile compensation for the run will be paid.
Pick up and delivery can involve the home or office of any customer, car dealerships, auctions, up-fitters, or an
AmeriFleet office or storage facility.
One of the most important parts of delivering great service is planning ahead. Due to the nature of the timeframe we receive
orders; it is sometimes difficult to plan too far in advance. For drivers, it is important to always work with our dispatch
logistics team to plan the most cost and time efficient way for you to arrive at the pick up and to exit the delivery point.
The costs associated with transportation services are part of the the per mile compensation for each trip. In the case of remote
or difficult pick up or delivery points, our dispatchers will work with drivers to minimize costs. Asking for one of our clients
for a ride is strictly prohibited and is not allowed. The commitment to our client is that we will pick up and drop off their
vehicles without involving them in the travel of our drivers and that all travel will be pre-arranged prior to our arrival to
minimize the time you spend at our clients’ home, office or facility.
No. Only active AmeriFleet contracted drivers are allowed in a customer or company car at any time. Only
AmeriFleet contracted drivers are insured to operate our client's or our company vehicles while they are
assigned to us to transport.
As an independent contractor, no taxes are withheld from the compensation paid to you for your services. You will receive a
1099 at year end to report all compensation for delivering vehicles. Many of the expenses you incur, including fuel, transportation,
and lodging are tax deductible against your compensation. We recommend you consult a tax professional related to your compensation
and tax returns.
